📍 Las Vegas, 2025

They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but for my first trip with my husband, I simply have to share a few highlights! This short getaway was a celebration of a very special occasion for us. A time for us to step away, reconnect, and create new memories. While the specifics are just for us to keep close to our hearts, the pure joy we felt throughout the trip is something I’m thrilled to share.

Both of us were first timers to the sparkling lights of Las Vegas, and the welcome was anything but solitary! My husband’s relatives greeted us with open arms, providing not just amazing accommodation but also a warm embrace that made our trip feel all the more special.

Where to First?

The absolutely essential first stop on our itinerary? You guessed it, the legendary “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign. This was a non-negotiable must do.

Yes, the queue was a decent length, and that Nevada sun definitely made its presence known. But honestly, the efficiency of the crowd wrangling was impressive, and the line moved quicker than expected. There’s even a handy system where you can get a photo with your own phone courtesy of an available attendant. Just a tip in appreciation, easy! It was a great moment of checking that very first item off our Vegas bucket list, even if we was just getting started.

On the Pavement: Exploring The Strip

From there, we simply hit the pavement, taking in the sheer spectacle that is The Las Vegas Strip. Our journey quickly led us to the iconic architecture of Paris Las Vegas, with its magnificent scaled-down replica of the Eiffel Tower.

There’s something undeniably charming about seeing it looming over the boulevard! Our original plan had a viewing of the famous Bellagio Fountains just across the way, but unfortunately, construction meant the water shows were on hiatus during our visit. A good reason to return, perhaps?

We then ventured into the beautiful Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. Every season, the entire area is transformed into a meticulously themed floral masterpiece. The attention to detail is simply stunning, and we loved just wandering through, surrounded by incredible natural art.

Also, don’t miss the stunning colorful glass flower sculpture on the ceiling near the hotel’s main entrance – a truly iconic piece!

The Gamble and The Glamour

A Las Vegas trip wouldn’t be complete without a peek inside the casinos! And goodness, they really are everywhere. The moment you step off the plane at the airport, you’re greeted by rows upon rows of slot machines. The potential to tempt fate is certainly high, and we quickly signed up for a rewards card to join in the fun. It’s easy to get swept up in the excitement, but a word to the wise: sets a budget and sticks to it! It’s all in good fun as long as you play responsibly.

Continuing our walk, we found ourselves outside the imposing Caesars Palace.

We couldn’t help but be impressed by the statues that dot the property, both inside and out.

For us, a key stop here was simply taking a photo outside the main entrance.

You might recognize it from a certain memorable movie about a missing groom and a missing tooth… Yes, the Hangover vibes were strong, and we just had to get that classic shot!

Our visual exploration continued as we stepped into the wonders of The Venetian, particularly The Grand Canal Shoppes. Walking under a seemingly endless sky-blue ceiling, you are transported directly to Venice, complete with winding canals and gently gliding gondolas. We opted not to take the ride (saving those pennies!) but we absolutely loved just admiring the view.

Our favorite way to experience it was from the comfort of a charming little cafe selling an array of beautiful desserts – including some particularly lovely macarons. Finding a quiet spot with a perfect view of the canals, watching the gondolas pass by as we enjoyed our sweet treats, was easily one of the simple highlights of our trip.

Views and New Horizons

As the sun began to set, the true magic of Las Vegas started to illuminate. We decided to truly soak in the city lights from on high and hopped onto the High Roller, currently the world’s tallest observation wheel. The views, especially as the neon lights began to pop across the skyline, were absolutely breathtaking and gave us a spectacular perspective on just how expansive the Strip truly is.

Later, we also took a drive down towards Fremont Street, another historic and vibrant part of the city. We loved simply capturing photos of the road at night, finding beauty in the unique and energetic blend of light and color that defined Las Vegas.

Beyond the Bright Lights

Of course, our adventure wasn’t confined solely to the city limits! A short drive out of town took us to some truly memorable landscapes. Our first stop was the captivating Seven Magic Mountains, a colorful installation of stacked, fluorescent-painted boulders right in the middle of the desert. Yes, it was definitely dusty and hot! But seeing these vibrant colors against the natural rock was undeniably cool.

We also explored the wonders of Valley of Fire State Park. The landscapes here were simply unbelievable! Vibrant reds, oranges, and purples as far as the eye could see.

One of my absolutely favorite moments was finding a perfect, slightly elevated, and surprisingly secluded spot that allowed us to look across the stunning valley, capturing a truly beautiful perspective of the entire park below. It was a wonderful, quiet moment of connection amidst the stunning natural beauty.

A Taste of Tradition (and a Great Ending)

All that exploring definitely works up an appetite, and we were treated to an incredible buffet experience. Which one, you ask? While the exact name slips my mind, it might have been one of the many renowned ones (perhaps at the Wynn?) that are known for their massive and high quality selections. All I know is, the food was spectacular, and the experience truly lived up to the legendary status of a Las Vegas buffet.

Our time in Las Vegas concluded with a couple more delightful moments. We couldn’t leave without witnessing the architectural marvel that is The Sphere.

We did see the entire show inside and it was pure magic ❤️

I’d seen it on Instagram, hoping to capture one of the famous falling apples during the show. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful but it was cool to see the scale of it all, and we happily made up for it with a little souvenir shopping afterward.

And finally, we could not make it through our first-ever trip without ticking off one more essential item: In-N-Out Burger! The simple pleasure of grabbing those classic burgers for our final meal was the perfect, comforting conclusion to a whirlwind of an adventure.

Looking Back (and Looking Forward)

Our first trip to Las Vegas was simply everything we could have hoped for. Short but incredibly sweet, it was filled with iconic sights, unforgettable views, and, most importantly, the warmth of shared experiences and the love of family. We are so incredibly grateful to my husband’s relatives for their incredible hospitality and warm welcome. Their generosity truly made this getaway extra special. ❤️

We left with full hearts, so many memories tucked away, and I must admit, a real desire to return. There’s still that fountain show to see, after all! Until next time, Las Vegas!
