Touch and Go (A book review)

Pain has a flavor…

Justin Denbe and his wife Libby Denbe was living the life anyone could dream about. Having a wealthy family, owning a construction business and blessed with a 15 year old daughter named Ashlyn, a gorgeous house. They really  have the perfect life anybody could ask for. Not until Libby caught her husband, Justin, cheating, their relationship went on the rocks. Trying to save the relationship, after their experimental nightout, they return to find three masked men in their home terrorizing their 15-year-old daughter, Ashlyn. The family is being kidnapped into a state-of-the-art penitentiary that Denbe’s firm built but was never put into use. As they wait to learn their captors’ motive, they struggle to be civil to one other regarding with their own issues. (Justin having an affair, Libby being addicted to painkillers and Ashlyn has a secret boyfriend). At the same time, corporate investigator Tessa Leoni, whose firm had been hired by Denbe Construction to handle security problems, arrives at the crime scene in the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and Taser confetti in the foyer.  The family appears to have been abducted, with only a pile of their most personal possessions remaining behind.  No witnesses, no ransom demands, no motive.  Just an entire family, vanished without a trace. Both Leoni and the authorities are surprised there is no ransom demand. Then, there begins a thrill-filled adventure of finding of the perfect family which easily vanished without any trace at all.

Constant revelation and surprises in every page are expected. This is my first book review about the author, Lisa Gardner. I haven’t heard so much about her work. This is her first book I have read so far and I can say that I am amazed and thrilled in every page (just as what you expect in a thriller mystery book) although it felt like i am lacking something about the background of the story. That’s when i did my research I  found out this book is a sequel from its book one giving all about it’s characters. I am planning to read it’s book one. So far, I am loving this book.

Love, safety, family…it is all touch and go.
